Portovenere hdr

From the lovely Church of San Pietro perched on high cliff in Portovenere, visitors enjoy a breathtaking view of the seascape that back in the 18th century inspired of one of the greatest English poets: Lord Byron. From here the poet dived into the sea and swam to Lerici 8 km away to reach his friend Shelly and this despite the choppy sea and high winds!

Not far away from this picturesque church there’s the famous Royal Sporting Hotel which I have just found out has a lot to offer. Its offer for the month of June includes three nights’ accommodation (double room with a view on the garden), a welcome cocktail by the beautiful swimming pool, dinner for two (beverages excluded) and free access to the hotel’s garage, two tickets to the famous Cinque Terre and a lovely present for only 270 euros per person.
