Saint Peter's basilica ranks among 10 most popular tourist attractions

According to a survey published on Hotels.com, Saint Peter’s Cathedral is one of the world’s most popular monuments; this is what at least came out of a survey among tourists, which had the Tour Eiffel in first place. Here’s the complete list:

1 Tour Eiffel
2 Saint Peter’s Cathedral
3 Taj Mahal
4 San Francisco ‘s Golden Gate Bridge; Empire State Building; Sidney Opera House; Sagrada Familia (Barcelona)
4 Acropolis of Athen; the statue of Christ, the Redeemer (Rio)
5 Big Ben; London Eye

However, according to the same survey, Italian tourists gave their preference to Saint Peter’s Cathedral which, of course, came up on top, while the Tour Eiffel got only second place!
