Enzo Ferrari used to say that The Mille Miglia was the most beautiful and exciting race in the world. And we can but agree with him. As many of you know the race which began in 1927 was banned after a fatal crash in 1957. In 1977 the race was somehow revived as a parade of vintage cars and has since fascinated millions of people.
It seems that the organisers have received thousands and thousands of applications, even from countries as far away as Japan and Argentina.
This year the Mille Miglia vintage cars will leave Brescia on Thursday, go to Rome and then drive back to Brescia where their arrival is scheduled for Saturday night. The Mille Miglia parade includes such beautiful cars as Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS; Fiat 8V ; Alfa 1900 super sprint; Aurelia Gran Turismo B20 and Alfa Romeo 2000 Sportiva. Most of the cars are driven by celebrities or great champions such as Jochen Mass and Mika Hakkinen.
