Rome: Trevi fountain as seen from inside

Fontana di Trevi

Actually the coins you see in this picture were not thrown into the Trevi fountain, but I must say the effect this skilled photographer has succeeded in creating is quite convincing. Don’t you think so?

Anyway the legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain you will come back to Rome one day; the tradition is thought to derive from the offerings people used to make to the gods in the hope of having their wishes granted. Well, this is something you should remember when visiting Rome!
