Postcard from Italy: Lake Como

Lago di Como

One arm of Lake Como turns off to the south between two unbroken chains of mountains, which cut it up into a series of bays and inlets as the hills advance into the water and retreat again.

Thus begins Betrothed by Alessandro Manzoni, one of the most important novels in Italian Literature; actually the book is mandatory reading for all students here in Italy. Something really inescapable I‘m afraid! Now - going back to Lake Como, doesn’t it look strikingly beautiful? Yesterday I came across this amazing photo and thought it would be perfect for Dolcevita! And I was right, wasn’t I ?
