The Tourist Italian premiere in Rome

As The Tourist is set to be a big success in Italy, here are the pics from its Rome premiere with Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt all gracing the red carpet. The Italians can’t resist a success they feel they’ve contributed to, and so fans turned up to see both the Hollywood stars and their local actors who appeared in the film.
Angelina Jolie has already pleased Italians off to see the film with comments about how professional the Italian actors were, and people going to see it will get a chance to revisit the romance of Venice on an international scale. Last May Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie were in Venice to film The tourist; one evening after dining at Rossa Rosa in piazza San Marco, one of his favourite restaurants in the city, the Hollywood actor, happy and satisfactorily full, thanked the owner with a very special gift: a self-portrait on the ceiling! So Mr Depp has proved to the world once for all that he is not only a good actor but also a talented grafitti artist! Good for him!

Apparently Angelina Jolie fell in love with Italy while she was here filming The Tourist earlier this year. According to The DailyMail the couple could not resist buying this fabulous house for 40 million dollars. Located in Val policella, a beautiful valley near the city of Verona famous for its vineyards and superb wine - the property boasts 18,000 square feet and 15 bedrooms, seven baths, a movie theater, two swimming pools, a gym and several Jacuzzis.

I’m already in love with the costuming in the action film and Jolie is looking fabulous as a kind of demure, classic beauty. Jonny Depp is on the scruffy side as usual, but that’s what we love about him. The Tourist in this remake of Jerome Salle’s 2005 movie is, in fact, Depp, with Jolie playing an interpol agent on the trail of a criminal. The film is to be released sometime in 2011.

Johnny Depp has just arrived in Italy to film Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s The Tourist; partly set in Venice (filming locations: the famous Hotel Danieli and Palazzo Pisani on the Grand Canal), the movie tells the story of a naïve American tourist who is used as a coy by an unscrupulous Interpol agent played by Angelina Jolie. Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s The Tourist is the remake of a 2005 French movie starring Sophie Marceau.
