The Gucci e-shop is selling this lovely Mamma Bag, made specially for mother’s day. The Italian fashion house has designed the bag with a fresh, summer look; simple but elegant, it’s made from white canvas with leather trim, classic green-red-green Gucci colours, a front zip-up pocket and two side pockets.
It’s an exclusive Gucci bag that will not only surprise your mum, but also help out Unicef as 25 percent of proceeds will go to Unicef work against HIV/AIDs. The Gucci Mamma Bag costs €750 but it’s not always that you can spoil your mum with luxury Italian accessories, and help out charity at the same time.
Gucci was founded in Florence in 1921 and this year celebrates 90 years of the Gucci brand. In honour of the birthday, there will be a Gucci 1921 collection and we’ll see a Gucci bag revival of some of the Italian accessories and classic bags from the brand over the years, including the Jackie (named after Jackie O), Horsebit and Bamboo.
The collection will have a new trademark “G.GUCCI Firenze 1921″ which will feature across the new range, and it will be available in select Gucci stores from June this year. The collection includes the New Bamboo, New Jackie (pictured above) and Horsebit Chain handbags in leather and crocodile skin, and old-school loafers and moccasins celebrating summer. The men’s accessory range will include two vintage-style travel suitcases in Gucci’s classic Diamante pattern.
Gucci creative director Frida Giannini says: “Throughout this year we are celebrating Gucci’s anniversary in many different ways, and with this special commemorative collection I wanted to pay homage to the icons, craftsmanship and luxury materials for which the House has become renowned since its founding by Guccio Gucci in 1921. Each item in the collection tells a story, representing a chapter within the House’s rich narrative history.”

Milan Fashion week started a couple of days ago and Gucci was one of the first to take to the catwalk. I must say right away that Frida Giannini’s new creations for next fall cut all the mustard! Beautiful, audacious dresses - partly inspired by the 1970s - which are an ode to luxury; from the huge fur collars to the transparent evening gowns in light blue, the collection is an ultra-feminine take on modern romance.

This time Frida Giannini, the creative director of Gucci, sobered things up and delivered a less flashy collection than expected; sharply tailored suites accompanied by shirts and ties in softer colour combinations and a series of fur collars which were quintessentially Gucci!
Chris Evans (along with Rachel Wood) is the new face of the latest Gucci Guilty male fragrance ad. This has been a very good year for the young actor; after landing the leading role in Captain America (one of the most coveted roles in cinema history), hunky Chris seems destined for international stardom!
Time for us to get a look at Frida Giannini’s latest creations for Gucci! I must say rightaway that the new collection for spring 2011 presented here in Milan is really amazing; from its safari jackets and oriental jumpsuits to a series of super sophisticated tribal evening dresses embellished with metal, feathers and beads!
