
The only pair of shoes that Salvatore Ferragamo ever created for a man during his life was the one that he specially made for Andy Warhol; it’s well known that the American artist did not love to wear shoes at all, but despite this idiosyncrasy he was glad to wear the Ferragamo ones which were comfortable and chic at the same time. A limited edition of this famous shoe with a splash of colour on its tip has now been presented by the Ferragamo family at Pitti Uomo in Florence and will soon be available at Ferragamo flagship stores in Florence, Milan, London and New York!
The museum of Modern Art in New York is hosting a fascinating exhibition called The secret story of fashionable platform in Italy; dedicated to the most innovative shoes created by Italian designers, this exhibition curated by Also Premoli can also be seen as a celebration of the talent and flair for fashion the Italians apparently have in their genetic code. Beautiful creations (many of them date back to the 1950s) which bear the imprint of Italian talent and never fail to take your breath away.
