Elisabetta Canalis naked for PETA: the video
Elisabetta Canalis could do Zoolander after seeing some of her facial expressions in this video in which the Italian showgirl strips for PETA animal rights association. Canalis’ career hasn’t exactly had the launch she might have been expecting after being tied up with America’s most famous actor. Clooney’s girlfriend had a role in the American TV series Leverage, and didn’t get star reviews.
Canalis then returned to Italy for the most important Italian television event of the year - the Sanremo festival. Pitted against fellow showgirl Belen Rodriguez from Argentina, Canalis was criticised for her hopeless dancing and her attempt at an English interview with Robert de Niro.
So it seems that Elisabetta Canalis is back to stripping off for photo shoots and appears in this “I would rather go naked than wear fur” campaign, doing what she does best - just being plain sexy.

Considered one of the top 10 sexiest female politicians, Italian equal opportunities minister Mara Carfagna was snapped in skinny bikini on a beach in the Maldives. The former show girl (she sure knows how to keep herself in good shape) was enjoying a brief holiday with her fiancé Marco Mezzaroma before their wedding which will take place on June 25.

Italian showgirl Federica Nargi enjoys nightlife in Milano Marittima
The pic shows Federica Nargi having fun at the disco in Milano Marittima, one of Italy’s fun capitals. The show girl took a break from the Stricia la notizia show on Italian television and apparently from her boyfriend hunky football player Alessandro Matri too. Judging from her broad smile and twinkling eyes, she seems not to miss him at all!

Italian football player Christian Vieri breaks up with girlfriend Melissa Satta
More gossip from Italy over local Italian football players has a break up between Christian Vieri and his girlfriend Melissa Satta. The Italian showgirl denied only recently that there were some problems in their relationship, saying she still loved her ‘Bobo’ Vieri, as he is known locally. But Vieri’s declaration over the weekend to Eurosport was this:
“It’s all over with Melissa.”
According to rumours, a possible liaison with another Italian showgirl, Sara Tommasi, could be the reason for the break. Vieri and Satta have been together for five years in what appeared to be a happy relationship as they swapped publicity opportunities and Satta started attempts at a modelling career in the US, aiming for Victoria’s Secret but landing a Sports Illustrated shoot instead.
According to some cynical comments on Gossipblog.it, Satta will be off to find someone richer (and probably won’t have any problems there) after her Italian WAG experience, and while Vieri’s career is pretty much over, he will have enough money to find himself someone just as young and pretty.
Mario Balotelli new girlfriend Sara Galimerti?
Mario Balotelli’s extraordinary talent seems to have spent less time on the field of English football than his difficult personality has in their tabloid papers. And it’s not just football controversy that is plaguing the Italian player, but his other extra-curricular activities which have even gotten fellow Italian and Manchester City coach, Roberto Mancini, offside.
So when he can, Mario Balotelli escapes to Milan, where he was recently spotted with former Miss Italy contestant, Sara Galimerti. The two apparently “met” on Facebook and then spent a night dining and dancing together. Galimerti participated in the 2009 Miss Italy contest as Miss Lombardy and follows hot on the heels of another Sara: the now famous Sara Tommasi - Balotelli’s “ex-girlfriend” and current Italian showgirl.

Haute couture Italian fashion: Elisabetta Canalis and Belen Rodriguez at the Sanremo festival
The 2011 Sanremo Festival saw the Italian showgirl duo of Elisabetta Canalis and Belen Rodriguez nearly steal the show, with the music contest turning into a who’s who of Italian fashion. In this gallery, you can see both the girls and the various creations they wore, and especially check out Elisabetta Canalis’ look if you want to know what it is that makes a man like George Clooney tick.
The first night saw a play on contrasting primary colours with Elisabetta Canalis in Donatella Versace (red) and Belen Rodriguez in royal blue, dressed by Alberta Ferretti. The second outing that same evening saw Belen wear a long, black flowing outfit while Canalis went sexy in pearl grey in a classic cut dress with Swarovski crystals.
The second night of the festival saw Belen Rodriguez dressed by Fendi with a black sparkly dress and round-neck cut. Her second dress was electric blue and the third, still from Fendi, was a powedery colour. Elisabetta Canalis was dressed by Emilio Pucci and her first number wowed the crowd - a wrap around white dress with cut-out back. She then passed to brown tones before finishing the evening in a one-shouldered gown of midnight blue. More after the jump:

Italian showgirl Alessandra Sorcinelli in Berlusconi scandals
It seems that Alessandra Sorcinelli, a former Italian showgirl, has been demoted to call girl, at least in the UK press as The Telegraph reports on the Silvio Berlusconi sex scandals. We originally mentioned Alessandra way back in 2009 when she was still on Italian television screens. Since then, she has tried to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Elisabetta Canalis, who got a television break in the US after becoming George Clooney’s girlfriend.
The only problem it seems, is that Alessandra was lacking someone of the profile of Clooney, and didn’t make her dream in the US, returning to Milan to apparently become a call girl and get herself involved in the Berlusconi scandals. As you know from reading us, Italy is full of wannabe show girls, who become washed up showgirls at frighteningly young ages, and Alessandra can now probably include herself in that category. That the infamous Berlusconi parties were a way to get where you wanted on Mediaset television seems to be now completely denied. Another young lady going through the turnstiles of Italian politics and television….
After the boob job: Italian showgirl Francesca Cipriani gets her bum done
The fact that not every girl in Italy can easily get herself a job as an Italian showgirl might make you think that the entertainment business here is exclusive in some way, but it seems that often those who get their faces on Italian television undergo a very random selection process. We don’t know who is responsible for this selection, and certainly not natural given the plastic surgery that abounds, but that we are often bombarded with some of the worst examples of femininity is evident.
Unfortunately Francesca Cipriani is one of those appalling examples. She embodies, whether intentional or not (could someone really be this dumb?), the bimbo role and has gained her position on Italian television by virtue of the extremely exaggerated boob job she had done some time ago. Cristina del Basso had to make way for Cipriani for the title of Italy’s biggest boobs, and the latter has decided to balance things and get her bum done as well.
Some comments from Italians are that it’s not difficult to use parts of your brain to pad out your bum but still, Cipriani or her agent, must have some marketing nouse in the entertainment industry because she’s still videoed and photographed and we’re still talking about her.
