Surely the height of indulgence would be to produce a luxury yacht off the back of an Italian exotic supercar? Mauro Lecchi has done just that, making this version of a Lamborghini power yacht. The model is 50-foot long and takes past and present Lamborghini design as its inspiration.
Not only does the Lecchi Lamborghini yacht have a Fenice Milano interior, it is also a suitably powerful model for the muse cited. It has two V12 engines producing 550 hp from Motori Marini Lamborghini, or at the top of the range a pair of 950-hp Seatek turbodiesels. It’s also a technologically advanced model, using a carbon-Kevlar structure which is apparently lighter than both fiberglass and aluminium.
As for the Fenice Milano interior, Lecchi has decided to go completely bonkers in the luxury field, using the famous design house which has also decorated auto models as famous as the Rolls Royce Ghost. We’re expecting to see some gold leaf spattered about at the very least.

Mariotti shipyard, a holding company founded by T. Mariotti and San Giorgio del Porto in 2008, has just launched a new luxury yacht brand called Mariotti Yachts; a € 9 million investment which will make the Italian ship builder far more competitive (especially when it comes to luxury details) in the global yacht market which, as many of you know, is a rather tough market. The launch of the first luxury yacht, a drop-dead yacht 54 metres long and designed by Luca Dini, took place yesterday. This megayacht has been bought by a Lebanese shipping magnate.

Italian celebrities love their luxury Italian summer holidays, and who better than Giorgio Armani to show us how it’s done? The Italian fashion designer has spent his holidays in Calabria, touring on the Armani luxury yacht, Main by Codecasa.
The luxury yacht cost 40 million euros to build and is 65 metres long. It was launched in the bay of Santa Maria di Ricardi, to the admiration of the holiday-makers, who followed it with interest on scooters, speed boats and even pedal-boats. The Main yacht took three years to build, and the interior was designed by Armani himself.
As if the millionaires of the world worry about such trivialities, apparently maintenance is very expensive, with a full tank of petrol costing 40,000 euros. The Main yacht with Armani on board has travelled the southern Italian region this summer, with an unknown itinerary.

Born in Naples, Achille Lauro became one of the most important shipping magnates here in Italy with a vast fleet of ships to his name. A rather controversial figure, he was often compared with Aristotele Onassis. He also became major of Naples and president of Naples Football Club, though his way of obtaining votes (especially in the slums of the city) raised many an eyebrow. Now his yacht (Achille Lauro died in 1982) has ended up on Ebay auction block. Well, back in the old days the yacht called Karama was considered a real beauty. Commissioned by Count Cini from Venice in 1931, the yatch was built in Fiume, a town renowned for its shipyards; it reaches a length of 31 metres, weighs 103 tons and has three masts and a Rolls Royce engine. In its halcyon days the yacht was manned by 11 sailors all staunchly loyal to the powerful magnate. The Karama was also the first ship to be registered in Naples with the number NA 001 ND!
Why not bid for it on ebay?

Venice’s luxury hotel will host the yacht exhibition where you can admire a vast array of exclusive products, including boats, jewellery, plush fabrics, supercars and furniture. A few little pearls will be on display, such as carbon fibre helicopters and an armchair decorated with Swarovski crystals. Plenty of cocktail parties in Venice and dinners are also available.
