A new collection of sunglasses designed by Madonna in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana will be released in February. We’ve seen a few of these pics of Madonna playing housewife in Dolce and Gabbana’s advertising campaign, but this is the first we’ve seen of the un-photoshopped pics. Leaving aside just who the person is who released these pics, Madonna looks pretty damn fabulous, photoshopped or not, and she’ll probably do wonders for the D&G campaign. They most likely paid her a stack of money to do so, anyway.
The symbiosis between Madonna, the black and white photos and the Dolce & Gabbana brand works really well, and it proves that D&G is virtually beyond international - forget advertising in Italy, they don’t even need to try to be recognised around the world with this ad campaign. We doubt very much that most people around the world will care that these pictures have been photoshopped to the extreme and, lets face it, we’re often all so vain that the unphotoshopped pics would mostly have been embarrassing at least, and unacceptable at most for many people.
What’s more, are we so shocked anymore that even someone like Madonna gets photoshopped? Whatever. It’s a simple but highly sophisticated campaign and D&G will probably get to cash in, big time, on its use of one of the world’s most famous icons. That and it will go down in marketing history.
Madonna is to design or rather put her signature to a collection of sunglasses for Italian label Dolce & Gabbana. The collection which should hit stores next May includes retro black plastic shades and gold-and-silver metal frames which will all bear the logo MDG. Actually the singer whose fastidiousness is notorious is still poring over the sketches that she got from Dolce & Gabbana, so we really don‘t know what will happen! Having been fired by Louis Vitton, Madonna has moved on to Dolce and Gabbana, finding a new top fashion brand to lend her image to. The new D&G campaign has the face of Madonna, recently released on Vanity Fair, and shows the world famous pop singer in black and white, washing the dishes.
Our Sicilian housewife also eats spaghetti and peels a boiled egg. For the Dolce and Gabbana campaign, Madonna was photographed by Steven Klein. It looks like she enjoyed playing housewife for a day - lucky that she doesn’t have to do it on a regular basis!

Singer Bono Vox has once again been spotted in Portofino. Apparently the Irish singer touched shore aboard the Cyan, a luxury yacht 42 metres long. His innumerable fans here in Italy still remember his impromptu show during which, last year, he sang a few U2 hits. As many of you know, the seaside town of Portofino is a great favourite with celebrities and big shots such Rod Stewart, Denzel Washington, Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna who just a few weeks ago celebrated her 51 birthday at the luxury hotel Splendido and had brunch at Dolce & Gabbana’s amazing villa by the sea.

The latest Italian trend is to turn up at parties, discos and concerts in a hired limousine or hummer, evidence that Italy’s love affair with American culture is far from over. Young Italian girls bent on imitating Paris Hilton or Britney Spears will spend anything from 150 euros an hour to hire as many metres as required to seek attention.
Luxury car hire agencies in Italy are becoming more numerous as the trend takes off. Recently, some friends of a 20-year-old girl who were all attending the Madonna concert in Italy, booked a pink limousine to pick them up from the event. Not a bad attempt at being mistaken for the famous singer.
Following the party for Madonna in Milan, Dolce & Gabbana, the most famous fashion duo in the world, were in need of a bit of rest so they decided to spend a week or two weeks on their luxurious D&G yacht anchored off the coast of Portofino in northern Italy.
