The Giorgio Armani classics were all there; from pleated trousers to double-breasted jackets many of which came in grey and blue hues. As always with Giorgio Armani the main focus of the collection was on emphasising the figure and its natural elegance. Here’s the gallery!

Miuccia Prada likes to experiment a lot with new materials but even when she reverts to old fabrics as in this case, she knows how to reinvent them. In this new and exciting collection dominated by blue shades, she takes denim back to its roots and, however contradictory this may seem, she breathes new life into it.

There were a few unexpected surprises at Emporio Armani with tough-looking models taking to the catwalk in rather skinny black leather trousers and matching jackets; a dark, Gothic mood which seemed to pervade the whole colletion, though, thank heaven, there were a few creations quintessentialy Emporio which saved the day. Take a look at the gallery.

Donatella Versace’s new collection for next spring takes us back to the 1980s or rather if I must be really accurate to the late 1950s when the music scene was dominated by the likes of Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis (both sporting a huge tuft of hair!); a collection made up of single and double-breasted suits, pointy two-coloured shoes and fringed leather jackets. Oh shake it up baby, shake it up!

Gianfranco Ferré 2010/11 autumn-winter collection was absolutely fabulous; as soon as the first model took to the catwalk, the public understood that they were in for a few mesmerizing surprises! Immaculately tailored houndstooth suites, black leather jackets, long grey belted-coats in the military style and fur tunics - which seemed to have come out of some romantic Russian novel - were the key elements of the Ferre man’s wardrobe today.
I don’t know if it was a coupe of theatre or just the economic crisis, but last week in Milan Trussardi 1911 replaced the conventional parade of male models on the catwalk with mannequins! So at first it was a bit strange to move about those soulless dummies, but then when I got the chance to take a closer look at them, I was quite pleased with what I saw. Trussardi’s nod to artisanal fabric treatments obviously made a difference and one couldn’t help falling in love with those grey tartan shirts (worn with pinstripe trousers) and elegant suites!
