Italian fashion label Prada has signed one of the hottest models of the moment, Miranda Kerr, for advertising in its Prada autumn/winter 2010/2011 collection. The top Australian model, famous for being Orlando Bloom’s partner, is big news at the moment, after becoming a Victoria’s Secret model and being chosen to model for the 2010 Pirelli Calendar. The Prada contract will be the first fray into high fashion for Kerr, and we can’t wait to see the first pics of from the campaign.

The 2010 Pirelli Calendar is one of the best yet, having been shot by Terry Richardson in Brazil and featuring models such as Miranda Kerr, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Rosie Huntingdon, Eniko Mihalik and Catherine McNeil.

You’ll be happy to know that there were actually Pirelli tyres on set and as an additional incentive for you to watch the video, here’s a golden quote from the photographer himself:

“It doesn’t have to be shocking, it doesn’t have to be overtly sexual but you just want people to like…stop and look at the damn pictures.”

Former Italian show girl and girlfriend of Christian Vieri will have to put up with disappointment after receiving the news that she is not among the chosen ones for as a new Victoria’s Secret Angel. The girls for the next campaign are Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, with no Melissa Satta among them.

According to reports, Melissa Satta has been back and forth to America for the purpose of being chosen for the famous lingerie brand, but all to no avail. Despite having not hit the big time in the US (perhaps she should try old George Clooney?), there will still be plenty of local attention keeping her an Italian celebrity in the game.

I prefer girls who have a natural beauty, so I never touch up my pictures! This is what photographer Terry Richardson said after shooting the Pirelli Calendar 2010 in Brasil. Actually the shooting took place at Salvador de Bahia on the beautiful Trancoso beach.

The calendar shows Miranda Kerr, Abbey Kershaw in boots and hat, Marloes Horst posing like a pin-up girl from the 1970s and Catherine Mcneil in a super sexy bikini. All models, according to our sources, will eventually get naked and roll in the mud - sexy isn’t it?
