The biggest names in Italian music will appear onstage tomorrow evening for a concert in aid of the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake. All proceeds from the concert to be held in Rome will go to the Aquila University, while on Sunday Laura Pausini will lead a concert to be held at the San Siro Milan stadium with the same aim.
On the stage will be singers and musicians such as Pino Daniele, Gigi D’Alessio, Gianni Morandi, Negramaro, Mario Biondi, Umberto Tozzi, Claudio Baglioni and many, many others, with Jovanotti making a video appearance from New York.
Personalities from the world of classical music will also be present, including Ennio Morricone in what we imagine would be a very moving tribute to the people of Abruzzo who died, and their families. Many of the artists are have composed, or are singing new songs, such as Pino Daniele with “Io per lei” or Lucio Dalla with “Caruso”.

Negramaro’s new work San Siro live (DVD plus CD) was released only a few days ago and today we have the pleasure to present the video of Meraviglioso, an old cover song of Domenico Modugno, a real Italian legend who was known throughout the world as Mr Volare.
The song which was written in 1968 is sad but full of hope and Negramaro made a great job of it! . The black and white video is quite intriguing showing a group of men all in black walking on the roof of a building; among them, I’m sure you will be able to spot several Italian celebrities! Enjoy!

For some of us who may have remained a little behind the times, Italy has gone past its musical roots of “Volare” and it is no longer a hit single around these parts. Showing how independent rock music can be done in Italy is Negroamaro with their new single “Via le mani dagli occhi” (Uncover your eyes).
Famous for its rock single “Parlami d’amore” (Speak to me of love), from tomorrow the band of six from Puglia will be plugging their new single across the nation, from the album “La Finestra (The Window). You can enjoy a slice of lead singer Giuliano Sangiorgi and the new single here.
The band has also revealed the names of guest slots for their Milan concert at San Siro stadium on May 31. And the groups are certainly reflective of Negramaro’s style: Scottish alternative rock group The Fratellis, and anglo-swedesh indy pop outfit The Hoosiers will be taking the stage. Both bands could be the next big thing but will have to take back stage on the night for the ever-emerging fame of Negramaro.
Through their own blog the group has also announced a television appearance on Scalo 76 on Saturday March 29. Interested fans can be studio guests but only while seats last so get in quick.
