As Italian director and filmmaking icon Bernardo Bertolucci will be honoured at the Cannes Film Festival with an Honorary Palme d’Or, Woody Allen’s Rome movie title has been revealed as The Wrong Picture. The world renowned American director has stated his intention to hire some Italian actors alongside the all-star cast of Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Ellen Page and Jesse Eisenberg.
Filming should take place soon at the Cinecittà studios and on the streets of Rome, although details are scarce on the plot and theme of the movie. Meanwhile, Penelope Cruz is in talks with Sergio Castellitto to appear in his next film Venuto al Mondo. The Spanish actress has apparently joked that she will spend her time in Rome working on her Italian language skills, as well. Perhaps Cinecittà will be saved after all?

Salma Hayek and Francois Henry Pinault met at Palazzo Grassi in Venice, and after getting married in Paris, decided to renew their wedding vows in Venice.
The actress from films such as Traffic and Frida fell in love with Pinault (not a difficult task, we imagine) and has had the pleasure of “la dolce vita” in Venice, with an impressive guest list at the event, including:
Jacques Chirac, Bono, Penelope Cruz with Javier Bardem (arriving in a speedboat). Then Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Gael Garcia Bernal, Olivier Martinez, Robert Rodriguez, Stella McCartney and even Salma’s ex-boyfriend Ed Norton. Further guests were Anna Wintour, Vogue director, Philippe Starck, Lucy Liu, Emir Kusturica, Skin, Ashley Judd, Luis Miguel. Representing the Italians were Riccardo Scamarcio and Valeria Golino.

Yesterday we showed you Sophia Loren and Daniel Day-Lewis in Piazza del Popolo, today we have a batch of new photos from the set of Nine by Rob Marshall featuring Nicole Kidman and Daniel; the two characters -as you can see- are ruthlessly stalked by the paparazzi through the streets of Rome. The movie inspired by Fellini’s 8/1 tries to recreate the ambience and atmosphere of the Eternal City in the 1960s!
Nine cast includes: Marion Cotillard, Dame Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, Ricky Tognazzi, Giuseppe Cederna, Valerio Mastandrea and Martina Stella
Just a few days ago the cast and crew of Rob Marsall’s Nine , a movie starring such big names as Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Dame Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, Ricky Tognazzi, Giuseppe Cederna, Valerio Mastandrea and Martina Stella, flew to Italy; as many of you already know, the movie inspired by Fellini’s classic film 8 ½ will now be shot on location in and around Rome. Our stolen pics from the set (i.e. Piazza del Popolo, one of the most beautiful squares in the whole world; though, to tell the truth, many tourists went ballistic because they were barred from the Piazza and the scene took a whole day to shoot) show Sophia Loren and Daniel Day-Lewis posing as their characters in Mr Marshall’s drama musical.
