The new film in the Twilight saga New Moon, could have a Rome Film Festival release, according to reports off the Charlie Bewley fans Facebook page. He apparently has a trip to Rome planned, in occasion of the festival.
Parts of New Moon have been filmed in Italy, based on scenes from the book, and the Italians even have a petition going for a Rome New Moon debut. The move might appease some disappointed purists that filming New Moon took place in Montepulciano, not Volterra, as included in the book. In the video above are scenes from the 2008 Rome Film Festival, when Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson created total delirium among fans.

New Moon, the much awaited presequel to Twilight, as you know, will partly be shot in the small town of Montepulciano in Tuscany (two chapters of the novel are set in the nearby town of Volterra). Actually the movie directed by Chris Weitz and starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Daniel Cudmore and Charley Bewly, caused quite a stir here in Italy when the production picked Montepulciano over Volterra for logistic reasons. Well, this is what a Summit Entertainment rep said at least. You may also be interested to know that the Italian fans of the movie are planning to be in Montepulciano on 30 May (the pic above shows the first fans arrived in town waiting under the scorching sun for their idols to sign an autograph). The fiver for the movie series seems higher than ever and I can’t deny I was a bit astonished when I read somewhere that more than 5,000 people showed up only in the hope of getting a role as an extra!
