I’m sure that many of you have never thought of the Romagna region as the place to be during the cold winter months, but if I were you I would now give it a try and make a trip to Cervia, a lovely town by the Adriatic sea, which every year during the holidays season succeeds in recreating a warm and cosy atmosphere and this is thanks to its innumerable Christmas markets, busking performances and beautiful nativity scenes. This year, a huge Christmas tree (20 metres tall) will also be put up in the town’s major square and Santa himself will be right there under its beautifully decorated branches distributing gifts to children. But this Christmas the chief attraction of Cervia (also known as Salt Town) will be the enchanting nativity scene crafted from crystallised salt and kept under glass (for protection against rain and humidity)
