Mad Men star January Jones strips down for the new Versace campaign. It was recently announced that the famous actress would be the new brand ambassador for the Italian fashion label and here we see her in super sophisticated fashion, totally naked but with some strategically placed Versace accessories. It seems January is as much a model as an actress, and this shows the continuing popularity of a famous celebrity face to advertise iconic brands.

Mad Men star January Jones is set to be the new face of the Versace spring collection as she is apparently part of the campaign photography shot by famous Italian photographer, Mario Testino. Famous for that role, Jones has spent a lot of time acting in supporting roles in films such as Anger Management, Love Actually and We Are Marshalls.
Already spotted at more than one celebrity red carpet event in Versace dress, January Jones recently attended the Versace Spring/Summer 2011 collection show and so the news isn’t a big surprise. Official word from the Italian fashion house is that she appears in the campaign although they go no further than that.

A portrait of George Maule by German painter Johann Zoffany has been returned to its original owners after being lost for 30 years. The painting was stolen in 1979 from an English family and turned up many years later in Gianni Versace’s home at his villa on Lake Como. With furniture and artwork from the villa going on auction by Sotheby’s last year, the painting was withdrawn over confusion about the legal ownership.
With ownership of the painting having been established as belonging to that of a family in Dorset, the Versace Foundation has given back the artwork. It’s understood that Gianni Versace didn’t know the painting had been stolen when he bought it. Around the time of the auction last year, the painting was recognised by a descendant of the subject and the original owners then got in touch with the Art Loss Register, producing a photograph of the painting as it hung in their house before it was stolen.
According to reports, the issue was settled amicably between the Versace foundation and the family. The painting’s value is estimated to be between 40,000 and 60,000 pounds. For curiosity’s sake, we wonder how many Versace clothes and accessories you can buy for that amount.
Donatella Versace’s new collection for next spring takes us back to the 1980s or rather if I must be really accurate to the late 1950s when the music scene was dominated by the likes of Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis (both sporting a huge tuft of hair!); a collection made up of single and double-breasted suits, pointy two-coloured shoes and fringed leather jackets. Oh shake it up baby, shake it up!

Electric blue and maxi dresses feature for the 2010 Versace winter collection, in a kind of hippy meets corporate range. Long, masculine trench coats feature over mini-skirts with metallic touches and modern accessories. I love the blue coat - very Puss in Boots or Paddington Bear chic.

There ‘s something almost post-apocalyptic about Versace men’s collection for autumn 2010; forward-looking menswear which somehow reminds one of outfits seen in such famous movies as Escape From New York and Matrix. Tight-fitting leather trousers, sleeveless t-shirts, black boots and dark sunglasses which look like a wall or rather a barrier between you and the world. This time Donatella has designed a collection which, despite its strange (and intrinsic) beauty, seems to be miles away from Gianni Versace’s brightly coloured kicks. Stay tuned for more reports and photos from Milan men’s fashion week.
Giselle Bunchen and Paul Sculfor have been chosen by Donatella Versace to star in her new ad campaign for autumn-winter 2009/10; photograhed by talented Mario Testino, the two models look stylish and drop dead gorgeous! Take a look at our photo gallery!

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker dressed in Versace for a red carpet charity night for children in Paris. Longoria had a lovely purple gown in an almost grecian style, and Parker had a classic black and white dinner suit.
It seems Italian designers are the choice for red carpet fashion events!

The Versace yacht is currently docked at the port of Brindisi for the delight of visitors and tourist. The luxury yacht is a high performance vessel, decorated with classic interiors of sophisticated materials in the style of the famous Italian fashion house.
Brindisi port seems to be hosting its fair share of famous luxury yachts this summer, with the Giorgio Armani Main yacht recently docking for maintenance checks. It is a bonafide made in Italy yacht, being built at the Codecasa facilities in Viareggio. Apparently its maintenance checks included some repairs to the onboard upholstery.
Italy has its fair share of luxury yachts cruising around during the Italian summer (including one of a Russian millionaire at the Brindisi port); if you keep your eyes peeled, you may be lucky enough to spot one.

For Spring-summer 2010 Versace has created an amazing collection where West and East gracefully meets; jackets and tunics and beautiful multiple belts which remind one of French foreign legionaries and sumptuous dinners at some foreign embassy in Morocco or Tunisia
